We understand each child is unique and deserves personalized love and care from our staff. Therefore, we consider each child individually as we prepare our curriculum, design our classrooms, and complete our child assessments and daily notes.
Safari Childcare feels consistency between home and school is vital to your child's success. We therefore rely upon constant communication to bridge the gap between home and school. Safari Childcare truly values the relationship between parents and school and feels frequent communication is the best way to maintain positive relationships in the best interest of each child.
THE GOALS WE HAVE FOR YOUR CHILD:
1.Development of self-esteem: Before children can relate to others they must first discover themselves. A child with positive self-esteem sees him/her self as a worthwhile human being. Positive experiences and praise have great impact on a child's future happiness and fulfillment. Children with positive self-esteem tend to learn more quickly and overall experience less difficulty in school. They also have an easier time accepting and understanding the "academics" of reading, writing, and number readiness. For those reasons, Safari Childcare considers the development of positive self-esteem to be the most important goal for your child.
2. Enhanced socialization skills: It takes opportunity and guidance for children to learn to function in a group. Safari Childcare provides this opportunity and guidance in order to help children develop the desired qualities of: sharing, helping others, understanding, and acceptance of one another’s differences. Safari Childcare also provides initial experiences for children to relate to adults other than parents. Development from an egocentric to a socio-centric view of life is fundamental to future development for pre-schoolers.
3. Love: At Safari Childcare we like to use words like "warm", "secure" "respect for individuality", "genuine concern", and "compassion" to describe our environment. Every attempt is made to give each child the feeling that they are loved and respected as an individual in order to ensure they feel secure and ultimately thrive in their surroundings.
4. Interactive Environment: Learning generally occurs through interaction with other people or through the exploration of new things. Safari Childcare provides an age and developmentally appropriate environment for children to express themselves verbally and emotionally while encouraging them to interact and discover the world around them. In the process, children learn to share, cooperate, and get along with others.
5. Development of Skills and Concepts: We believe children will learn the "academic" skills of reading, writing, and number concepts when they are ready to do so. We subscribe to this concept with the result that no child is forced to deal with these areas until they are developmentally ready. Safari Childcare incorporates fun learning activities in order to help develop skills for the children without forcing them to partake in concepts which would frustrate them or make them feel inadequate in any way. We also focus on language development, hygiene and self-help skills and social interaction in order to help children feel more secure.
6. Motor development: We provide activities to develop muscle skills on a daily basis. Playground activities, music and movement, gymnastics, and dance are examples of some of the types of activities we provide to help develop large gross motor skills. Lacing games, puzzles, painting, and manipulative are examples of activities we provide to help develop fine motor skills.
